AllFlashStore extremely fast storage

Product Introduction

GStore is a new generation of fully self-developed software-defined extreme performance distributed block storage products for high-performance enterprise businesses.Based on distributed architecture design, it eliminates the bottleneck of traditional controller architecture and can be fully decoupled from server hardware.
GStore can use NVMe SSD, SATA SSD, and SCM type hard disks as the main storage medium, and can support 25G/100G RDMA RoCEv2, Infiniband and traditional 10G TCP/IP network technologies at the same time.

GStore provides iSCSI, NVMe-oF standard block storage interfaces, Vhost ultra-fast block storage interfaces, and VAAI and CSI application ecosystem compatible interfaces. The system also supports iSCSI multipathing, volume snapshots, volume cloning, automatic thin provisioning and other enterprise-level storage features to meet Requirements for business continuity, data protection, and storage resource utilization improvement.
GStore adopts a decentralized distributed system architecture, which enables the system to smoothly expand capacity horizontally and linearly improve system throughput as the cluster scale expands. The GStore system uses physical pool multi-level (server level and cabinet level) fault domains and data cross-fault domain multi-copy technology to ensure system high availability and data persistence.

Product advantages

Extremely fast performance experience
GStore utilizes new generation hardware technologies such as flash memory, SCM and NVMe over RDMA, and adopts a fully self-developed high-performance IO software architecture to maximize the performance of new storage media by reducing IO paths, improving concurrent throughput, reducing thread switching and lock-free mechanisms. End-to-end accelerated data transfer.
GStore can achieve more than 2 million random IOPS in a single volume and multiple channels, as well as a breakthrough performance of 100 microseconds in concurrent latency. Compared with products developed based on Ceph, the performance is improved by up to 10 to 30 times.

Use cost optimization
The GStore system can combine the architecture to manage storage resources, accurately meet the performance service levels required by the business, and implement high-performance NVMe drivers, allowing the product to achieve higher overall performance with the same hardware resource configuration and be able to carry more businesses. application.

horizontal linear expansion
GStore adopts a fully distributed architecture design, and its system capacity and performance have large-scale horizontal expansion capabilities. Without interrupting user services, the entire cluster supports expansion from 3 conventional rack servers to 4096, completely getting rid of the problem of limited scale of traditional SAN storage controller clusters. System IOPS can maintain near-linear growth as the server scale increases, and the entire system IOPS can reach tens of millions.

Agile service deployment
GStore develops a software architecture based on the microservice model, which isolates each module component of each system into microservices and encapsulates them in a container environment, thereby improving the fault tolerance, scalability and security of the system. The microservice-based form allows each module component of the system to be upgraded independently, enabling rapid delivery and enhanced service capabilities. Container-based encapsulation makes GStore perfectly adapted to the cloud-native environment, and can flexibly provision data storage services anywhere in the cloud, data center, and edge within seconds while maintaining a consistent experience in operation and maintenance management.

Open and compatible ecology
At the software function level, GStore is compatible with the full range of iSCSI block device interface command words, and users can seamlessly migrate business applications using traditional block storage to GStore; GStore has joined the VMware Ready program and provides VAAI interface semantics to support the VMware ecosystem; GStore provides CSI interfaces Compatible with K8S container ecosystem. In terms of hardware compatibility, GStore supports server clusters of different brands and generations, allowing users to avoid being locked into specific hardware and enjoy the benefits of hardware technology upgrades while protecting hardware investments.

Multi-level durable and reliable
Complete data classification capabilities support data flow across storage pools (SSD, SAS, and SATA) within the cluster, and across geographical locations and platforms between the edge and the center (private cloud or public cloud) to achieve intelligent cost optimization.

Multi-level safety and reliability
At the system reliability level, GStore adopts the reliability mechanism of multi-level physical resource redundancy and physical resource pool fault isolation, combined with the data multi-copy data persistence strategy, a single resource pool can tolerate up to 2 cabinet/server failures, and there is no business interruption. , to protect users’ business continuity.
GStore software-defined storage can also provide a powerful hardware sub-health detection and processing mechanism, which can monitor hard disk sub-health such as bad sectors/bad blocks, slow disks/slow IO, etc., and can monitor network sub-health such as network card slowdown, packet loss, and jitter. , which can monitor the sub-health of system services such as server CPU slowdown and repeated memory correction. GStore isolates sub-health resources without affecting business operations and overall system reliability.

Build the next generation of intelligent data infrastructure to gain new impetus for business growth.
